Fat Loss Habits – Drink More Water

Healthy weight loss plans may differ in some of their portion suggestions and “fat burning foods,” but I have yet to see and effective weight loss program that does not recommend drinking more water and cutting out calorie containing drinks.

When you are trying to lose weight (especially if you are new to the whole weight loss thing), you really are going to want to form the right fat loss habits. And the best way to do this is to focus on the easier ones first, then move to more advanced fat loss habits as you build your momentum.

That’s why I generally recommend that the first step you should take toward your weight loss goal is to start drinking more water and cut out calorie containing drinks. I can’t believe how many people I see each day drinking calorie and sugar packed fruit juices and sodas.

Just by cutting out the calorie containing drinks, you may reduce your total calories each day by at least a few hundred calories (depending on how much fruit juice, soda, etc. you drink right now).

Drinking more water can also help you to feel fuller, so you will be less likely to gorge at each meal. Here’s what I recommend you do to get on the water habit:

  1. Designate a cup (glass or mug) that is reserved for water only.
  2. Keep it on your desk or work station in the same spot each day
  3. Set a refill point and make sure that you stop what you’re doing and refill that cup as soon as it reaches that point

I’ve been doing this for years, and just by following these simple tips I generally drink about a gallon of water per day. That’s a lot less room for other empty calorie foods, I feel fuller, and my body is hydrated and better able to function, better able to burn fat.

Drinking more water and cutting out empty calorie containing drinks is a vital part of any weight loss eating plan. And it might be one of the most simple weight loss tips that you can follow. I know it may be difficult to get started (especially if you aren’t used to drinking water on a regular basis, but it will pay off for sure.

So try the above technique for an easy way to spark some fast fat loss. Challenge yourself to do this every day for one full week, and I’m fairly certain that you’ll start to form the habit of drinking more water…a must for fat loss success!
